In this 4 week beginner wheel class you will learn the basic fundamentals of wheel throwing including wedging, centering, pulling walls, trimming and glazing. The workshops will be structured to allow each participant to create between 3 - 6 pieces to take home after the completion of the course.

The class size is small scale for 3 people allowing more one on one instruction time. You will have your own wheel for the duration of the classes allowing you full hands on experience for the 4 weeks. Price is per person. This workshop takes place in our Downtown Squamish studio.

Week 1 will consist of learning the basic fundamentals and techniques of wheel throwing; week 2 will be putting those techniques in to practice to create your items; week 3 will be another opportunity on the wheel to perfect your skills; week 4 will focus on learning how to trim and add surface decoration/ handles. You will then get the chance to select your glaze colours and your pieces will be glazed and fired for you.

All materials and use of tools are included, we recommend bringing an apron and hand towel that you do not mind getting clay on. It can get quite messy so dress accordingly, flat shoes work best on the wheel pedals.

No prior experience is needed for the beginner class as it is designed to cater for people who have never used a pottery wheel before. If you are looking for an intermediate class please email direct to book a private workshop.

This class requires at least 2 spaces to be filled to go ahead. If for some reason only one space is booked you will be contacted to re-arrange/ combine with another class if possible. If this is not possible a refund will be issued.

Please see the FAQ's for cancelation policies or contact direct with any inquiries.
